I have to say one of my favourite types of tack is Arabian, although it's not the best section of the equestrian sport, which I'll get into shortly.
I admire how some people can make such magnificent and eye-catching sets, I have made a couple myself but am only proud of the one I finished making today. Took me a couple of days to make but was so worth it!
I also love Arabian model horses. There is so much elegance and facial and muscular structure to capture and some sculptors do that perfectly! The retired schleich Arabians do that very well (the grazing foal and 2007 grey mare) and then there is of course all collectA Arabians and both of the WIA Arabians sculpted by Horraw studios (I believe that's the name ) which I'm so excited to be getting!
As for real life Arabians it is going down hill fast. The selective breeding is cruel and honestly isn't as good looking as the breeders think, and to see brands, schleich specifically, feed into that with the more unnatural dip in the horses face is annoying. I know there is gonna be some people that think "it's not that deep" and I know it probably isn't but still! Just coz that's how the breed looks now doesn't mean we have to feed into that and support by making the models look that way.
I know I went on a little rant and I could talk for hours about the topic of cruel selective breeding (there is some very good selective breeding as well) I won't bore you, please share your opinion on the matter with me I'd love to hear it!
Bye for now x
